Seaweed - Ongoing
Seaweed as a material has a long history of use and connection to domesticity within Scotland. Used as a fertiliser and food source for centuries, the material became one of the first industrialised processes integral to the production of soap and glass during the highland clearness and the
industrial revolution in Scotland and is now used in beauty products and face creams. Landscape Soup is currently working with a variety of makers based in Scotland to explore contemporary uses of seaweed with the domestic sphere.
